Who we are
GlobalDatum Ltd designs and manufactures PCB assembly tooling from Unit 4, Waterside Industrial Estate, Pathbrae, New Cumnock, KA18 4DF. We are registered in Scotland, company number SC292093. This policy covers this website only. It does not cover our distributors’ own websites, or any site we link to.
What we collect, and when
The only information this website collects is what you type into the contact form and choose to send us. That is your name, company, email address, telephone number if you give one, the subject and message, and any file you attach.
We do not ask you to create an account, and there is nothing on this site to log in to. We do not run advertising or profiling of any kind.
Files you send us
The contact form accepts design data — Gerber, ODB++, drill files, drawings and similar — so we can quote and design your tooling. We treat that data as confidential commercial information belonging to you. We use it to prepare your quotation and, if you place an order, to design and manufacture the tooling. We do not share it outside GlobalDatum without your instruction, and we do not use it to develop products for anyone else.
Why we are allowed to hold it
When you send an enquiry you are asking us to do something for you, so we handle your details to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and afterwards to perform that contract. Where an enquiry does not lead to an order, we keep the correspondence on the basis of our legitimate interest in maintaining a record of who has approached us and what was quoted.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies of its own. It runs no analytics, no advertising trackers and no social media embeds, so nothing here follows you between sites.
Who processes it for us
The site is hosted by Netlify, which delivers the pages and receives contact form submissions on our behalf. Netlify keeps standard server logs, which include visitors’ IP addresses, and screens form submissions for spam. Netlify acts as our processor and may store this data outside the UK; those transfers are covered by the standard contractual protections in our agreement with them.
Where an enquiry is best handled by one of our approved distributors — Solder Connection in the UK and Ireland, or Nufesa in Spain — we will pass your contact details to them so they can help you. We will tell you when we do this.
We do not sell your information to anyone, ever.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an order are kept for two years and then deleted. Where you become a customer, we keep the correspondence and design data for the life of the tooling plus seven years, so that we can support, repair or reproduce it and meet our accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete design data sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to us using it, and ask us to send it to you or another provider in a portable form. Write to sales@globaldatum.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
Changes to this policy
This policy was last updated in September 2026. If we change how we handle your information we will update this page, and the date above with it.
